WRITING
PLAY WITH ME THE STORYMAKER !
This game allows us to combine the use of technology with writing, so we will have the opportunity to practice vocabulary, grammar and creativity. We will work in teams, make decisions and present the work in a creative way.
OBJETIVES FOR TEACHER:
- Pairs or small groups.
- Access to the following APPs: Storybird, ToonDoo or Book Creator.
- Explain to the children that they will work together to create a story in English using the app.
- Each member of the group should take turns adding a part of the story. It could be a paragraph, a page, or even a comic vignette, depending on the tool they are using.
- Encourage the use of vocabulary and grammatical structures appropriate for the children's level.
- Groups can use the application's options to add illustrations, sound effects or even voice recordings to bring their story to life.
- Once they have finished creating the story, each group can present it to the rest of the class.
- They can share the story on screen or print it out if possible.
- After the presentations, the other students can ask questions or make comments about the stories created.
OBJETIVES FOR STUDENT:
- Improve English writing: children practice writing in English by creating a collaborative story. They can apply the vocabulary and grammatical structures learned to express themselves more fluently and coherently in writing.
- Encourage creativity: By using interactive applications to create stories, children have the opportunity to develop their creativity by inventing characters, plots...
- Reinforce teamwork
- Use ICT in an educational way
- Stimulate oral presentation: practice their oral expression skills in English, improve their fluency and gain confidence in communicating.
- By listening and watching stories created by other groups, children have the opportunity to learn from the experiences and perspectives of their peers.

ResponderEliminarHi Cristina!
I'm looking at your activity and I think it's a very good idea to create stories. It is a very useful activity because you can reinforce vocabulary and grammar in a general way or specifically about a particular topic. It is very interesting to do this kind of activities because you work implicitly the second foreign language, English, and encourage their creativity.
The idea of working in teams or pairs is a very good way to relate and interact with the rest of the classmates. They also help each other.
The Storybird App is a good tool as I have used it with children in the past and it works great, it is highly recommended.
I would also like to highlight the separation between teacher and student objectives. It is easier to know which objectives have been achieved or which are being achieved, as this is a continuous evaluation.
CONGRATULATIONS FOR THIS BLOG!
